- The official website of the China General Administration of Customs recently announced that the original electronic payment system for customs duties will be shut down from October 1, 2018. Meanwhile a new generation of electronic payment systems for customs taxes will go online. The announcement pointed out that the move aims to further improve the convenience of payment of duties on import and export goods and increase collection efficiency. On October 1, 2018, the original electronic payment system ceased to operate, and the Customs office no longer transmits duty forms and deposit data to third-party payment platforms.
Enterprises can choose to pay at the counter or by logging in to the “Single Window” and “Internet + Customs” platform to pay customs duties using the new generation electronic payment system.
