Decrease in solid waste imports of 46.5% in 2018

9 May 2019 - On 28^th March 2019, Qiu Qinwen, the director of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the PRC introduced the general situation of waste imports of 2018. The national solid waste imports decreased 46.5% year-on-year in 2018, of which the restricted solid waste category imports decreased 51.5%. Mr. Qiu stressed that China will continue to reduce the amount of solid waste imports and strive to achieve zero import of solid waste by the end of 2020.
